Bat’s Head Root gets its name because it looks a lot like a bat’s head (pretty sure you might have guessed that already). A bunch of old spells that mention “head of bat” are actually talking about this root.

It’s a rare plant that comes from Mexico and shows up in all kinds of spiritual practices, like witchcraft, voodoo, and hoodoo.
