It lived during the Late Cretaceous period (about 68–66 million years ago) in what is now North America. Its skull alone can be up to 5 feet long, with powerful jaws and 60+ serrated teeth. According to paleontologists, it had one of the strongest bites ever, capable of crushing bone. It’s pretty easy to see why they came to this conclusion when you look at its skull. It went extinct during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event around 66 million years ago, likely due to an asteroid impact. It remains one of the most studied and iconic dinosaurs in history.
